His beloved roots lie in the heart of his native Sicily, in Palma di Montechiaro, but his formation took place in the swinging Florence of the 80’s, workshop of creative inventions,
followed by a bipolar axis Milan-New York. Samuele Mazza, originally a designer but who now defines himself simply as a creative director, has loved and dared to cross through territories that were always different, setting himself the challenge of overcoming repeated and speculative obstacles, barriers and images. He has known how to delineate an interdisciplinary cosmos, intermingling languages, signs and fields often light years away from one another. His books on fashion, history of costumes, relationships between art, photography, cinema and fashion are
countless, as are his collaborations with museums, galleries, public entities, his company image consultancies, extraordinary inventions for special events; famous, too, are his exhibitions based on a particular theme, such as the shoe, spectacles, or the bra, that have, for the first time, become a common practicing ground of authentic design for artists of all generations. And now his latest exploits, the invention of a chocolate, based on an ironic, surrealist inspiration, temptingly
called Besame mucho, and the outlining of a line of furniture inspired by the neo-gothic style, creating the Visionnaire mark with products of the same name. A line evoking theatre ‘scenography’ and the theatrical play, itself, with the occasional trace of literary reminiscences.
